Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran (born March 10 1949) is an American businesswoman investor, speaker, consultant writer, syndicated columnist, author, and television personality. The Corcoran Group, an NYC-based real estate brokerage, was founded by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then left the business. Corcoran, one of ABC's original Shark investors has been part of each episode of Shark Tank. By February 2020, she had signed 53 deals. The largest of these was a purchase of $350,000 to Coverplay at 40%. Corcoran was the second child in a family of 10 kids who was born in Edgewater. Florence Corcoran was Florence's mom and was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father, was a multi-talented employee throughout the years of Corcoran's childhood. At times, her family relied upon deliveries of food that was free from a local grocer. Corcoran claims that her father was drunk who did her mother a disservice and condescension. Corcoran was a struggling student in school. Corcoran later found out that she had dyslexia. Corcoran was educated at an Catholic elementary school and then enrolled in high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School.
