Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara OOC (born March 4 1954) is a Canadian-American actress and comedian. O'Hara has been awarded a range of awards, including the Genie Award, a Golden Globe Award and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. In addition, she was awarded two Primetime Emmy Awards and six Canadian Screen Awards. In the year 2018, she was made an Officer of Canada. In 2020, she received the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement award. O'Hara made her name as an actress as a member in 1974 of The Second City, an improvisational comedy troupe based in Toronto. She was a part of the principal cast in the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978) along with John Candy and Dan Aykroyd. O'Hara and Candy started work on Second City Television's sketch comedy show (1976-1984). O'Hara won a Primetime Emmy Award in 1981 for her writing in the Outstanding category for Variety Series. In 2022, O'Hara was added to the new Second City artistic advisory board which was headed by Stephen Colbert, along with Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, Julia Louis-Dreyfus Jane Lynch, Tim Meadows, Peter Murrieta, Suzy Nakamura Sam Richardson, Jeff Richmond, Jason Sudeikis, and Robin Thede.
